Weekend scenes

I had a really lovely and interesting time at Knopf/Random House last week. Good books. Good people. Good lord, that's a big building. I'll write more about that in the next day or two, but in the meantime (as we wait for more snow to freshen up the more-black-than-white piles on the street corners), here are a few photos from round and about...

Anyone who finds it soothing and satisfying to align things (Hello, my friends T, H and M, for a start.), anyone who likes to catch a glimpse behind the scenes (Hello, everyone, right?), and anyone who likes to make ordered sense from chaos (Hello, fellow editors.), will love Visible storage at the Met. It's kind of like a big, physical-world style sheet - which is obviously just the coolest thing ever.

Where do you go if you need to source Tim Tams in NYC? An Israeli grocery store in the East Village, obvs. The Holyland Market delivered the goods, which I in turn delivered to the gang at Knopf, in tiny token of thanks for their kindness.
